A coastal wedding at Watermouth Cove, North Devon
As a Watermouth Cove wedding photographer and videographer, Rebecca and Paul’s day felt like a true reflection of everything this venue does best.
Set right on the North Devon coastline and held on World Ocean Day, their wedding was filled with sea air, emotion, and intentional moments that felt deeply personal to them.
With their closest people travelling from around the globe, their day blended intimate vows, meaningful family moments, their two dogs by their side, and one of the most incredible cliff-top sunsets this venue has to offer.

About Watermouth Cove Weddings in North Devon
If you’re planning a wedding by the sea, Watermouth Cove Weddings is one of those venues that instantly stands out. This truly is one of the nicest venues in the UK.
Tucked away along the rugged North Devon coastline, it offers something completely different to your typical UK wedding venue.
You’ve got:
- A private beach and secluded coastal setting
- A cliff-top ceremony space overlooking the ocean
- A wonderful, family-ran team behind the scenes.
One of the best things about Watermouth Cove is how much there is to do and experience. The whole venue unfolds across different levels and spaces, from the pool and accommodation areas, to the private beach, cliff-top viewpoints, and party spaces, so the day never feels stuck in one place.
Guests naturally move, mingle, explore, grab a drink in the sun, wander down to the beach, and stumble into those brilliant little moments that make a wedding feel alive.
It’s not a sit-down-all-day kind of venue. It’s the kind of place where your wedding feels like a mini holiday with all your favourite people.

Our Experience as Watermouth Cove Wedding Photographers
OKAY…we may be a little biased – but Water Mouth Cove Weddings really is our fave venue;
We’ve captured over 20 weddings here, including being part of its very first wedding when it launched. Over the years, we’ve learned exactly how to make the most of this space in a way that feels effortless for our couples.
There are a few things that aren’t obvious unless you’ve worked here a lot:
- Sunset hits the cliff-top viewpoint, not the beach
This is where the magic happens. Timing this right is everything. - Tide timings affect access to certain areas
Knowing when and where you can move matters, especially for photos. - Guests naturally gather in specific spots
Which means better candid moments if you know where to be and when.
For Rebecca and Paul, this meant we could help shape a timeline that allowed them to fully enjoy their day while still capturing everything that makes Watermouth Cove so special.

Rebecca & Paul’s Wedding Story
The morning felt calm, sunny, and full of that classic Devon coastal energy. Blue skies, sea air, everyone slowly getting ready, and that lovely buzz of knowing something special was about to happen. The vibes were very much on.
One of the standout moments was Rebecca’s first look with her parents, and honestly, they were the absolute cutest. The reactions, the smiles, the emotion… pure gold. Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do. Real feelings, real connection, and memories that will mean even more as the years go by.

… and then it was time for the ceremony at Watermouth Cove’s ICONIC viewpoint.

Once the ceremony begins, we melt into the background and let everything unfold naturally. No interrupting, no making moments about us, and no pulling focus from what really matters.
Our job is to quietly document it all while you and your guests stay fully present. The nerves as you walk down the aisle, the smiles and tears from your guests, the laughter when something unexpected happens.
All of the real moments.

Rebecca & Paul’s personal vows were intimate, honest, and very funny – we highly recommend checking their film out just a few scrolls down!
Moments like this are exactly why having video matters so much. We use tiny, discreet mics to capture every word clearly, so when you watch your wedding film back, you don’t just remember what was said, you get to hear it all again exactly as it felt.

…Back to Rebecca & Paul’s Watermouth Cove Wedding!
Once the ceremony is over, the celebration truly begins.
This is one of our favourite parts of the day to capture. No stiff posing, no over-direction, just real moments happening everywhere. Big hugs, laughter, happy tears, and guests soaking it all in.
For Rebecca & Paul, their dogs were part of the celebration too, so we made space for some relaxed photos with their (very cute) doggos!

After Rebecca, Paul, and their guests enjoyed some drinks, canapés and time to mingle, we headed to the private beach for some epic wedding party photos.
We always turn this part into a bit of an experience. Music on, champagne popped, everyone chatting, laughing, hyping each other up, and just enjoying the moment together.
It keeps things relaxed, gets everyone comfortable quickly, and means the photos feel full of energy rather than forced smiles.
It’s also the part of the day where people usually say, “That was actually so fun.” Which is exactly the goal!

Golden Hour on the Meadows
One of the our fave locations to take photos at Watermouth has to be the meadows at sunset.
We snuck Rebecca & Paul away up to the meadows for golden hour, just the two of them, while everything softened into that warm, dreamy light. It gave them a chance to breathe, step away from the buzz for a few minutes, and really take it all in together before some sparkler pics and getting the party started!

Tips for Couples Getting Married at Watermouth Cove
Real advice from having shot here extensively:
- Keep things simple. Watermouth Cove already gives you so much. With on-site accommodation, a private beach, pool, and stunning sea views, it feels less like a wedding venue and more like your own private coastal escape for the weekend.
- Make the most of having everyone there longer. Think pre-wedding pizza evenings, morning sea dips, and next-day pool parties. If you can budget for it, make the most of the entire weekend!
- Book trusted suppliers who know the venue well. From tide timings to sunset spots on the cliffs, experience here helps everything flow effortlessly.
- Most importantly, trust the venue team. Watermouth Cove is family-run, and Georgia, Zoe, and the team will look after you every step of the way, making the whole weekend feel warm, personal, and stress-free.
- And don’t forget to schedule time to pause and take it all in. Sunset on the meadows is an absolute vibe!
