Marie & Henrik’s Wedding at La Pescaia Resort
Henrik’s Swedish family and friends had arrived in Italy en-masse – and they brought the energy! Equally energetic, Marie’s family and friends travelled from all across the USA, making this one of those rare lifetime experiences where a global circle of friends and family came together. This is what destination weddings are all about.
There was a sports day to break the ice, a group cycle through the Tuscan countryside to a winery. By the time the wedding day arrived, new bonds and friendships had already been made.
The morning was a quintessentially Tuscan calm and sunny morning – the birds were singing, guests were drinking cappuccinos whilst sharing tables at breakfast, and the excitement was gently building.
Henrik spent his time getting ready with his entourage in the piano room, where a couple of whisky’s led to some impromptu Swedish sing-a-longs.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Marie had a very calm morning – her mum, Kevan (who, might we add, is an absolute sweetheart!), helped Marie into her dress before the grand reveal with her bridesmaids.
Shortly afterwards, the guests began to take their seats and it was time for the ceremony to begin…
Led by Marie’s brother, Chris, their ceremony was deeply personal; Grounded, emotional, and filled with happy tears and laughter.
Cocktail Hour and Candid Moments
After the ceremony (and a quick group pic!), we took a step back and documented a cocktail hour full of warm congratulatory hugs and laughter.
Evening Toasts and Banqueting Under the Stars
One of our favourite things about La Pescaia resort is the beautiful courtyard. As the afternoon moved into evening, long tables filled with food, wine, and conversation. Laughter echoing through the courtyard, glasses clinking as the speeches unfolded.
The Dance Floor
Once the dance floor opened up, Marie, Henrik, and all of their guests really started to let loose to the soundtrack of ABBA & Avicii – the perfect way to end the night!
